As 2017 draws to a close, 57 Films were thrilled to be recognised for our ongoing successes, taking out the Channel 7 Creative Industries Award at the Business SA Export Awards.

The awards seek to celebrate excellence in South Australia, by recognising the most dynamic and innovative businesses in the state.

The award helped us reflect on an exciting couple of years, kicking off with Chef Exchange series 1 in 2016.

In March this year, we attracted Beijing’s Ciwen Media to South Australia, producing Speed – a Chinese television series, the first ever to be shot in South Australia, injecting $3m into the local economy. We secured an internationally competitive tender with the Qingdao Municipal Government, developing a series of high-end promotional films advertising Qingdao to the world.

We are proud to be among the South Australian winners, helping to showcase the state’s premium products and services to the world.

On the back of our Business SA Export Award success, we went on to participate in the Australian Export Awards, bench marked against our peers Australia wide.

The Australian Export Awards, hosted 5 December, are a national program recognising Australian businesses for their export achievements, and contribution to Australia’s economic prosperity.

Paul Ryan and Nicole Miller represented 57 Films at the award ceremony in Canberra, where we competed in the Creative Industries category.

Together, the 77 finalists generated more than $3.9 billion in export sales in 2016/17, employing more than 31,000 people.

We were honoured to be recognised among Australia’s leading exporters, an outstanding achievement in a year that has seen 100% growth for 57 Films.
